Arrival Times
While the earliest arrival time for children in the mornings is 8:00 am, there are 
children who arrive before that time.

Parents need to be aware that the school cannot guarantee supervision for any child before 8:00 am. Likewise in the afternoons when school finishes at 3:00 pm we cannot guarantee supervision for children who stay after 3:30 pm.

Picking Your Child Up

A reminder please that if you are dropping off your child to school after 9:00 am, make sure they come in via the office to sign in.
It would be best if you accompanied them.

If you are picking up your child early from school or for an appointment, please do this from the office as well.

Your child will meet you in the school office.

It is not OK to just meet them in the carpark, you need to let the office know.

Have you downloaded the Skool Loop App yet? Do it today and get all your notices, newsletters, give permissions for activities, let us know if your child is going to be absent, check the school calendar, all on your phone.




Student User Agreements

The BoT and staff have been reviewing the Student User Agreement that covers our pupils' use of Computers and the Internet here at school. 

Can you please read it through and sign it—along with your child. If you have any questions about it, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us here at school.

 

Good afternoon

This is a reminder that we have a Teacher only Day, this Friday, March 21.This is a compulsory training day, directed by the Ministry of Education, to support teachers in implementing the new mathematics curriculum so school will be closed for instruction.

St Matthew's Primary 30th Anniversary- Sunday March 9 

A reminder that on Sunday we have our school 30th anniversary church service and celebration.  If you are intending to attend and have not completed the notice that was sent home previously, please call the office and let us know. This is the programme for the day-Church Service 10 a.m.Morning tea & speeches 11 a.m.Cultural performances 11.30 a.m.Tree planting 12 p.m.School open to visitors 12- 1p.m.

 

School Water Festival @ St Joseph's- Tuesday 11 On Tuesday 11th March the students at St Matthew’s will be taking part in the Schools Water Festival. The event will take place at the St Joesph’s School pool. The school will walk down to St Joesph’s leaving at 12.30 pm. We will be returning to school at approximately 2.30pm.Students will need to bring their:Swimming togsTwo towelsA water bottle full of waterSun hatWe will be needing parents to walk down to St Joe's with the junior students. If you are keen to help please contact the office. It would be great to have parents come and watch but please be aware that the space around the pool is limited. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

 

Wednesday, March 12, Rafting Year 8'sAs part of our Leadership Programme and William Pike Challenge we are taking our Year 8's to the Mohaka River for rafting.

 

Teacher Only Day, Friday, March 21- School ClosedOn Friday, March 21 we have a Ministry of Education mandated Teacher only Day focusing on the new Maths Curriculum so school will be closed for instruction.

 

Absences and AttendanceIf your child is sick or has a doctors or dentist appointment or will be away from school for whatever reason, please remember to let the office know by using the Hero app, SkoolLoop app, email or phone. If you don’t let us know, your child is marked as “truant”. We have noticed some children are being dropped off at school before 8:00 am. We do request that children do not arrive before 8:20 am as we cannot guaranteesupervision before then. Likewise with pick up after 3:20pm, we cannot guarantee supervision.
